Allatoona Lake now accepting hunting permit applications

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is now accepting applications for permits for the upcoming hunting season at Allatoona Lake in Georgia. A $20 special activity fee will be assessed for each permit issued.

West Point Dam Road, R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park to close during annual triathlon

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that West Point Dam Road and the R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park at West Point Lake in Georgia are scheduled to close to all vehicular traffic from 5 p.m. April 22 until 2 p.m. April 23 (EST) for the 14th annual West Point Lake Triathlon.

U.S. Army Signs Record of Decision, Approves Updated Water Control Manuals for Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Basin

Mr. Douglas W. Lamont, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, has signed the Record of Decision (ROD) for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basin Master Water Control Manual Update and Water Supply Storage Assessment, and the South Atlantic Division Commander has approved and implemented updated Water Control Manuals for the ACF Basin in accordance with the ROD.

USACE approves request to temporarily reduce Lake Lanier water releases (1701-003)

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District (USACE) has approved a request from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (GEPD) for a temporary reduction in the minimum flow requirement from 750 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 650 cfs as measured at the confluence of the Chattahoochee River and Peachtree Creek near Atlanta, Ga.
