    The President’s Budget for fiscal year 2018 (FY 2018) includes $5.002 billion in gross discretionary funding for the Civil Works program of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). "The fiscal 2018 Civil Works budget for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reflects the administration's priorities to support and improve the nation's economy and infrastructure, and to protect the American people," said Mr. Doug Lamont, senior official performing the duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works. "This Budget supports the core mission areas of coastal and inland navigation, reducing flood risks from riverine flooding and along our coasts, and restoring aquatic ecosystems.”

  • Allatoona Lake to host “Get Kids to the Park Day” at Galt’s Ferry

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is scheduled to host a Get Kids to the Park / Safe Kids Day at the Galt’s Ferry Day-Use Area at Allatoona Lake in Acworth, Ga., May 20. The event, which is cosponsored by the Safe Kids Cherokee County and the National Park Trust, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free for everyone attending the event, however boat launchers will still be charged a daily-use fee.
  • Allatoona Lake now accepting hunting permit applications

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is now accepting applications for permits for the upcoming hunting season at Allatoona Lake in Georgia. A $20 special activity fee will be assessed for each permit issued.
  • West Point Dam Road, R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park to close during annual triathlon

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that West Point Dam Road and the R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park at West Point Lake in Georgia are scheduled to close to all vehicular traffic from 5 p.m. April 22 until 2 p.m. April 23 (EST) for the 14th annual West Point Lake Triathlon.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that Twiltley Branch Campground at Okatibbee Lake in Collinsville, Miss. is closed to the public beginning April 3 and is expected to remain closed until April 14 due to high water.
  • U.S. Army Signs Record of Decision, Approves Updated Water Control Manuals for Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Basin

    Mr. Douglas W. Lamont, Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works, has signed the Record of Decision (ROD) for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basin Master Water Control Manual Update and Water Supply Storage Assessment, and the South Atlantic Division Commander has approved and implemented updated Water Control Manuals for the ACF Basin in accordance with the ROD.
