  • Seasonal water level decline to begin at West Point Reservoir

    Water management officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, announced today that the reservoir level at West Point Lake in southwest Georgia is expected to decline over the next 10 days. This decline is typical this time of year due to decreased inflows into the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin and increased evaporation levels that occur in late summer and fall.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The West Point Dam Roadway will be closed Aug. 24 while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers West Point Project hosts a training exercise for the U.S. Army’s 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment from Fort Benning, Ga.

  • West Point offers boating safety classes

    MOBILE, Ala. – The Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Auxiliary Flotilla 08-01, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Project, will conduct two free personal watercraft and boating safety courses at the West Point Project Management Office in August. The one-day courses are scheduled for Aug. 12 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • West Point Lake National Public Lands Day Event

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, at West Point Project announces the annual National Public Lands Day (NPLD) event to be held Sept. 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holiday Campground. The event is the Nation’s largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
  • District Commander sworn in as SAME Mobile Post President

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, Commander Col. James DeLapp, was sworn in as the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Mobile Post President at the Athelstan Club here, July 12. DeLapp replaces outgoing Mobile Post President Jeff Duplantis, a senior project manager with Constantine Engineering.
