Allatoona Lake now accepting hunting permit applications

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is now accepting applications for permits for the upcoming hunting season at Allatoona Lake in Georgia. A $20 special activity fee will be assessed for each permit issued.

Permits may be obtained by mailing the hunter’s name, address, telephone number, pertinent state hunting license number, e-mail address, a self-addressed stamped envelope and a check or money order for $20 to the address listed below.  When purchasing multiple hunting permits, all of the above information must be included for each hunter. 

All hunters are required to have a permit to hunt in USACE hunting areas and must display the pass in the permit holder’s vehicle while hunting.

Allatoona Lake issues 400 permits annually, providing hunters access to 2,777 acres of public land.  These permits do not apply to the Allatoona Wildlife Management Area, which is operated by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.  Hunting maps and regulations are available on our website at: www.sam.usace.army.mil/Missions/CivilWorks/Recreation/AllatoonaLake/Hunting.aspx
