ODESS (Operations and Dredging Endangered Species System)

In an effort to automate data collection and provide an interactive decision-making tool to measure the impacts of hopper dredging activities on Threatened and Endangered Species (TES), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) National Dredging Quality Management Program (DQM) developed the Operations and Dredging Endangered Species System (ODESS) in 2017 as a replacement for the Sea Turtle Data Warehouse (STDW), which had been developed 25 years earlier at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC). ODESS provides a platform to centralize and archive TES data from dredging activities for long-term continuity and data evaluation across regions and under the various negotiated Biological Opinions (BiOps). Click here to go to the ODESS Public Website.
