    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at West Point Project, will be accepting real Christmas trees, not artificial trees, for recycling December 26, 2020 through January 8, 2021.
  • USACE ALLATOONA LAKE TO ACCEPT CHRISTMAS TREE DONATIONS

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake, will be accepting organic Christmas trees for recycling from Dec. 26, 2020, to Jan. 3, 2020, at seven drop-off sites around the lake. Artificial trees will not be accepted.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake Project will close Vineyard Mountain Trail from Dec. 1 – Dec. 31, 2020, due to scheduled hunting activities in the area.
  • Mobile District Releases Final ACT Feasibility Report

    On November 20, 2020, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District (USACE), released the Final Feasibility Report and Integrated Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FR/SEIS) for the Allatoona Lake Water Supply Storage Reallocation Study and Updates to Weiss and Logan Martin Reservoirs Project Water Control Manuals, Alabama and Georgia (or the Allatoona-Coosa Reallocation Study) for Final National Environmental Policy Act review. The review period concludes on December 21, 2020.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will temporarily close several areas of the project to public access when it hosts a training exercise for the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment from Fort Benning, Georgia on October 14, 2020.
  • Lake Sidney Lanier to Lower Pool Elevation for Dam Repairs

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District will be lowering the pool elevation at Lake Sidney Lanier over the next few weeks to allow for head gate repairs to be made at Buford Dam.

    To ensure public safety and the safety of work crews during the maintenance of West Point Dam, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will temporarily close vehicular and pedestrian traffic across West Point Dam Road from October 5, 2020 at 8 a.m. until December 20, 2020 at 4 p.m.
  • USACE TO RESUME DAY-USE RECREATION FEE COLLECTION OCTOBER 1

    Following the temporary suspension of recreation fees this past spring and summer to protect against the spread of COVID-19, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District announced today that it will resume the collection of fees at several dozen recreation areas beginning October 1, 2020.
