  • USACE Allatoona Lake To Accept Organic Christmas Trees For Recycling

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake announced Dec. 17, 2019, it will accept organic Christmas trees for recycling from Dec. 26, 2019, to Jan. 3, 2020, at seven drop-off sites around the lake. Artificial trees will not be accepted.
  • USACE Tenn-Tom Waterway To Accept Electronic Payments Only At Recreation Sites

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Project in Columbus, Mississippi, is only accepting credit and debit cards as a form of payment at DeWayne Hayes Day Use Recreation Area and Cochrane Campground effective Dec. 13, 2019, with multiple recreation sites to follow, starting in 2020.

    MOBILE, Ala. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at West Point Lake Project announced that the project’s operations and maintenance contractor, East O&M, will begin the seasonal maintenance of the Government property line around the reservoir on Monday, Dec. 9, 2019.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake Project will close Vineyard Mountain Trail from Dec. 1 – Dec. 31, 2019, due to scheduled hunting activities in the area.
  • USACE Mobile District Announces Public Meetings for ACT River Basin

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District is scheduled to host four open- house public meetings Dec. 9 – Dec. 12, 2019, at various locations throughout the Alabama-Coosa- Tallapoosa River Basin in Georgia and Alabama. This is part of the public review and comment process for the Draft Feasibility Report and Integrated Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FR/SEIS) for the Allatoona Lake Water Supply Storage Reallocation Study and Updates to Weiss and Logan Martin Reservoirs Project Water Control Manuals, Alabama and Georgia, to be released on Nov. 15, 2019.
  • USACE Waives Day Use Fees At Recreation Areas For Veterans Day

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced Nov. 6, 2019, that it will waive day use fees for boat launch ramps and swimming beaches at its more than 2,850 USACE-operated recreation areas nationwide in observance of Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11.
  • USACE TO HOST YOUTH HUNTERS AT ALLATOONA LAKE FOR ARCHERY DEER HUNT

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake is scheduled to host an archery-only deer hunt on McKinney Campground Dec. 7 - 8, 2019, for youth hunters, starting at 5:00 a.m. Youth hunters 15 years old, and younger, are eligible for participation but must have an adult hunting assistant, 21 years or older, with a valid Georgia Big Game License.

  • PSA: CARTERS LAKE ANNOUNCES SEASONAL CLOSURES

    MOBILE, Ala. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announces seasonal adjustments to the operating schedule at Carters Lake recreation sites. The Carters Lake Visitor Center hours of operation are changing. From November 1 - April 14, the Visitor Center will be open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. From April 15 - October 31, the Visitor Center will be open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • REPAIRS BEGIN FOR REOPENING WEST BANK PARK

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Lake Sidney Lanier announces that repairs have begun at West Bank Park — which was temporarily closed in February 2019 due to safety hazards after flooding — with a projected reopening by March 2020.
