    As we continue safely phasing our recreation area back to normal operations for our visitors, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is very pleased to announce that many of the Day Use parks at several recreation areas will begin re-opening on Friday, May 22, 2020.

    With the ongoing presence of COVID-19 in North Georgia still a public health and safety concern to federal operations in the region, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District announced today that our recreation areas at Lake Sidney Lanier, Allatoona Lake, and Carters Lake will be extending campground reservation cancellations through Sunday, May 31.

  • Mobile District Announces Transmission Line Repairs at Allatoona Lake Project

    As Georgia Power rebuilds the Cartersville transmission line at the Allatoona Lake project, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District wishes to advise the public that as repairs are underway, the project spillway gates will be utilized to make releases managing lake levels and providing downstream environmental management.

  • Mobile District Temporarily Closes West Bank Park For Repairs

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announces the temporary closure of West Bank Park at Lake George W. Andrews, to complete repairs to the riverbank shoreline. High water events in February caused erosion along the bank, making the area unsafe for the public.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announced today that it has temporarily closed Old Federal Campground at the USACE Lake Sidney Lanier recreation area, heavily eroded by high-water events in recent years.
