  • USACE TO HOST DISABLED HUNTERS AT ALLATOONA LAKE FOR ARCHERY DEER HUNT

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake is scheduled to host an archery-only deer hunt on McKinney Campground Dec. 5 - 6, 2019, for disabled hunters, beginning at 5:00 a.m.
  • PSA: CARTERS LAKE ANNOUNCES SEASONAL CLOSURES

    MOBILE, Ala. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announces seasonal adjustments to the operating schedule at Carters Lake recreation sites. The Carters Lake Visitor Center hours of operation are changing. From November 1 - April 14, the Visitor Center will be open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. From April 15 - October 31, the Visitor Center will be open Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • REPAIRS BEGIN FOR REOPENING WEST BANK PARK

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Lake Sidney Lanier announces that repairs have begun at West Bank Park — which was temporarily closed in February 2019 due to safety hazards after flooding — with a projected reopening by March 2020.
  • USACE Mobile District Seeks To Partner With Non-Federal Public Entities Through New CCSCM Program

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, commanded by Col. Sebastien P. Joly, seeks to partner with non-federal public entities — which are state, county, municipal or local governments; public institutions of higher education; and Native American tribes — sharing management functions and potentially expanding recreation programs at Carters Lake Project through the new Challenge Cost Sharing Cooperative Management (CCSCM) Program.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Black Warrior and Tombigbee Lakes Project will close access to Lock 8 Park at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, for maintenance operations.

  • USACE, PORT AUTHORITY SIGN MOBILE HARBOR DESIGN AGREEMENT

    MOBILE, Ala. – Col. Sebastien P. Joly, commander of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District, and James Lyons, director and chief executive officer of the Alabama State Port Authority, signed the Design Agreement Oct. 2, 2019, at the Port of Mobile, which begins the design phase for improvements to the Mobile Harbor, Alabama Project.

    MOBILE, Ala. – As of Oct. 1, 2019, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District implemented seasonal partial closures at Lake Seminole and Jim Woodruff Lock and Dam recreation sites. The seasonal closed areas include Faceville Landing Campground, River Junction Landing Campground, and Chattahoochee Park. Lake Seminole day-use sites and/or other campground facilities managed by USACE will remain open.
