Willie L. Patterson III, Ed.D has been Chief of Real Estate Division for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District since February 2004.
Dr. Patterson is a 30 year veteran of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. His career began with Mobile District’s Real Estate Division in 1986 followed by several positions around USACE. Before returning to Mobile District in 2004. He also served at USACE in Washington, D.C. as Chief of the Realty Services Division, Real Estate Directorate and was later reassigned to Chief in the Civil Division. Other previous USACE Real Estate Division positions include Chief of Acquisition Branch for New Orleans District and Planning & Acquisition Program Manager for the North Atlantic Division.
A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Patterson is a graduate of Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of South Alabama and his doctorate in public administration from the University of West Florida.
Dr. Patterson’s awards and honors include but are not limited to: USACE Commander’s Award; Commander's Award for Civilian Service; Head Quarters USACE Real Estate Director’s Award; New Orleans City Council Proclamation; and U.S. Southern Command Letter of Appreciation.
