Lt. Col. Frankie Flowers

Lt. Col. Frankie Flowers currently serves as the Deputy Commander for Latin America, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.  Prior to his current assignment, Lt. Col. Flowers served concurrently as the Deputy Commander for the Mobile District and as the Deputy Commander for Latin America.

 

Lt. Col. Flowers’ military service includes enlisted assignments as a Unit Supply Specialist, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY and as a Special Forces Engineer Sergeant, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, NC.  His assignments as a commissioned officer include Platoon Leader, A Company, 1st Engineer Battalion, Fort Riley, KS; Executive Officer, B Company 2-10 Infantry Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; DPW Operations Officer, Camp Doha, Kuwait; Brigade Engineer, 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team and Company Commander (Iraq), A Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, Schofield Barracks, HI; Senior Engineer Advisor, 1st Battalion, 196th Infantry Brigade, Fort Shafter, HI; Deputy Chief (Iraq), 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division (Advise and Assist), Fort Hood, TX; Brigade Recruiting Operations and Assistant Professor of Military Science, Loyola University of Chicago, 3rd SROTC Brigade, Chicago, IL; Battalion Executive Officer, United States Forces Korea, Special Troops Battalion, Yongsan, South Korea; and as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC.

 

His military education and training includes Officer Candidate School, Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Captains Career Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Special Forces Qualification Course (18C), U.S. Army Ranger School, Basic Military Freefall, Basic Airborne, Air Assault, and he has earned an Expert Infantryman’s Badge.

 

His civilian education includes a B.S. in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College of New York and a M.A. in Management and Leadership from Webster University. 

 

Lieutenant Flowers’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2), the Meritorious Service Medal (6), Army Commendation Medal (5), Army Achievement Medal (6), Meritorious Unit Award, the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Iraq Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.  He is authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Special Forces Tab, Ranger Tab, Basic Military Freefall Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
