Mobile District Extends Campground Reservation Cancellations through May 17

Published April 10, 2020

MOBILE, Ala. –

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announced today that as a continued public health and safety measure in the ongoing wake of the COVID-19 emergency, our recreation areas are extending campground reservation cancellations through Sunday, May 17.

At the present time, visitors who wish to camp at our recreation areas may be able to block reservation dates for dates starting on Monday, May 18. Please note that the COVID-19 emergency is not yet over, potentially necessitating additional change to the campground reservation policy at a later date. Recreation area visitors wishing to use our campgrounds should check our recreation area Facebook pages regularly for up-to-date information on campground reservations, or call the recreation area project office of your choice.

While our visitor centers, campgrounds, and beaches are not currently open, certain water and land access areas remain accessible to the public, including:

  • Boat Launches
  • Nature Trails
  • Viewing Areas

As we keep these sites accessible to the maximum extent possible, please be aware that all USACE recreation area facilities remain subject to closure as conditions surrounding the COVID-19 emergency may evolve.  USACE also strongly encourages our visitors to continue practicing social distancing as well as other safety practices communicated by public health officials.

For more information, you may contact the USACE Mobile District at 251-690-2505, and please follow USACE Mobile District and its recreation areas on Facebook:
