Mobile District Re-Opens Day Use Parks in Time for Memorial Day Weekend

MOBILE, Ala. – As we continue safely phasing our recreation area back to normal operations for our visitors, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District is very pleased to announce that many of the Day Use parks at several recreation areas will begin re-opening on Friday, May 22, 2020.

The following Corps Projects will be re-opening a select number of their Day Use parks during the Memorial Day weekend:

  • Lake Sidney Lanier
  • Allatoona Lake
  • Carters Lake
  • West Point Lake
  • Lake Seminole
  • Walter F. George Lake & Lake George W. Andrews
  • Tenn-Tom Waterway

For information on a specific Day Use park, please visit our Facebook pages.  You may also contact the Project Office for more information on parks in your area.

Please be advised all beaches, shelters, and playground areas remain closed at the present time.  With the exception of West Point Lake, all campgrounds also remain closed in accordance with the federal government's COVID-19 guidance.

The health and safety of USACE personnel, contractors, volunteers and the visiting public are our highest priority.  We continue monitoring national health and safety data, we appreciate the public's understanding as we move ahead with our phased re-openings.  Please continue maintaining safe social distancing with other guests, and consider bringing hand sanitizer for additional safety.
