The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced that the roadway on top of West Point Dam will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians during the week of November 18-22, 2013. Motorists use the road in their daily commutes across the Chattahoochee River, and the closure may add to their travel time. Signs located at each end of the road are in place to notify the public of its accessibility. Alternate routes across the river are the US Highway 29 Bridge in West Point, Ga., and the Georgia Highway 109 Bridge west of LaGrange, Ga.
