West Point Dam Traffic Restricted

Published April 11, 2014

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam road will be closed Thursday, April 17, 2014, to ensure public safety as contractors use large equipment to conduct an inspection of the West Point Dam

Many motorists use the West Point Dam Road in their daily commutes across the Chattahoochee River, and the closure may add to their travel time.  Signs located at each end of the road are in place to notify the public of its accessibility. Alternate routes across the river are US Highway 29 Bridge in West Point, Georgia, and the Georgia Highway 109 Bridge near LaGrange, Ga.
