  • USACE West Point To Host Free Boating Safety Course

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake — in partnership with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 08-01 — will conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course April 11, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST at the West Point Project Management Office in West Point, Georgia. This free USCG Auxiliary course will provide information on legal requirements, navigation rules, preventing personal watercraft and boating accidents, and new boating laws.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake will temporarily close vehicular and pedestrian traffic across West Point Dam Road March 9, 2020, 8:00 a.m., to March 27, 2020, 4:00 p.m., to ensure public safety during the maintenance of West Point Dam.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at West Point Lake will close R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park, its boat launching ramps, and West Point Dam Road to all vehicular traffic April 26-28, 2019 for the 16th Annual West Point Lake Triathlon.

  • R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park and West Point Dam Road to be Closed April 26, 2015

    MOBILE, Ala –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announces the R. Shaefer Heard Day Use Park and the road across West Point Dam will be closed to all vehicular traffic, at 6 p.m. Saturday April 25, 2015 thru 2 p.m., on Sunday April 26, 2015 for the 12th Annual West Point Lake Triathlon.
  • Ringer Park Temporary Closured for Upgrades

    MOBILE, Ala.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project announced that Ringer Park will be temporarily closed, on a periodic basis from mid September through October, so Anderson Construction Company can perform facility improvements. These intermittent closures are necessary while improvements are being made in the park.
  • West Point Dam Road Traffic Restricted

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday, May 21, 2014, to ensure public safety while routine maintenance is conducted on the West Point Dam.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam road will be closed Thursday, April 17, 2014, to ensure public safety as contractors use large equipment to conduct an inspection of the West Point Dam.
  • Bluebird Monitoring Volunteer Opportunities

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District at West Point Project is seeking volunteers to assist with bluebird nesting box monitoring during the March to August breeding season. Prospective volunteers should be available to inspect their assigned nesting boxes every two weeks during the breeding season. USACE will provide data logs and maps to the locations of the assigned nesting boxes.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Inspecting and Repainting Boundary Line at West Point Lake

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that the project’s operations and maintenance contractor, Anderson Construction Company, will begin the seasonal maintenance of the Government property line around the reservoir on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. USACE would like to make the public aware of this work so that local residents are not alarmed by their presence.
