  • USACE participates in the Cancer Society's Chili Cook off

    MOBILE, Ala.– Three Mobile District Corps members will be participating with the Mobile Post Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) in preparing the famous 'Off the Grid Chili' for this year’s American Cancer Society’s Chili-Cook-off. The event will be held Saturday, February 12, in Bienville Square in downtown Mobile.
  • Prescribed Burning of Timberlands Underway at West Point Project

    MOBILE, Ala.– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Project announces prescribed burning of selected timber stands around the reservoir is underway. Each winter, the Corps works with Forestry Commissions in both Alabama and Georgia using controlled burning to improve wildlife habitat on the public property surrounding the reservoir.
  • Safety Course; offered locally

    MOBILE, Ala.– The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 81, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake, will conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course at the West Point Project Management Office on February 15 and 17, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Eastern Time.
