    Mobile District engineers recognized at 2024 BEYA Awards

    One of the benefits of working hard and doing your best is being recognized for your efforts. This happened recently for two engineers here with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District.

    Park Ranger Christine Dowell named Mobile District’s NRM Employee of the Year

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Ranger Christine Dowell of the West Point Project has been named the Mobile District’s Natural Resources Management Employee of the Year for her outstanding service and commitment to natural resource management and public safety. Christine’s journey at West Point Lake has been marked by her passion for the outdoors and dedication to her role.

    John Bass, Senior Engineering Technical lead for Civil Works at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, has been named the 2024 MACE Young Engineer of the Year, marking a significant achievement in his distinguished career.

    Mobile District Data Collection Unit hosts open house

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District Water Management Department created the Data Collection Unit (DCU) to meet the demand for more data and collect it rapidly.

    Retired Seabee and Mobile District employee retires

    Growing up as an Air Force dependent and living in various locations throughout his life, including Okinawa, Japan, Sam Staffan was used to moving around. Staffan, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District transportation/fleet manager, joined the U.S. Navy in 1983, retired in 2005, became a government employee with the Navy and joined the Mobile District in 2018.

    Panama City Office making positive impact on the Florida Gulf Coast

    When Hurricane Michael hit the Florida Gulf Coast five years ago, it nearly destroyed the Panama City. One of the agencies that played a significant role in the city’s recovery and turnaround since the storm is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, specifically Mobile District’s Panama City Project Office. The two leading roles of the office are Navigation Operations & Maintenance and Dredging and Disposal Area Management.
