    Panama City Office making positive impact on the Florida Gulf Coast

    When Hurricane Michael hit the Florida Gulf Coast five years ago, it nearly destroyed the Panama City. One of the agencies that played a significant role in the city’s recovery and turnaround since the storm is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, specifically Mobile District’s Panama City Project Office. The two leading roles of the office are Navigation Operations & Maintenance and Dredging and Disposal Area Management.

    Mobile District employee continues serving after half a century with USACE

    In 1973, the U.S. ended its involvement in the Vietnam War by signing the Paris Peace Accords, George Foreman became the heavyweight champion of the world by knocking out Joe Frazier. Model and actress Tyra Banks was born, and artist Pablo Picasso died.

    As we come toward the end of October, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, joins the nation in commemorating National Disability Employment Awareness Month, highlighting the critical role of inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in the District.

The function of a public affairs office is frequently misunderstood as simply posting photos on social media. This perception overlooks the multi-faceted nature of the career field.

    Bunting remembers Hurricane Michael ordeal five years later

    Five years ago, one of the most devastating storms to hit the Gulf Coast and the United States, Hurricane Michael, wreaked havoc on Panama City, Florida, in October 2018.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District hosted the 4th Quarter FY 2023 USACE South Atlantic Division Regional Governance meeting at the USACE Huntsville Engineering and Support Center in Alabama
