    MOBILE, Ala. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District invites the public to participate in an important public workshop on the release of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Bayou Casotte Harbor Channel on July 8, 2014 at the Grand Magnolia Ballroom and Suites in Pascagoula, Mississippi from 5 pm to 7 pm.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District has scheduled the reopening of the Jim Woodruff Lock located on the Apalachicola River in Chattahoochee, Fla. for Friday, June 20 to all vessels as much needed repairs have been completed.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announces the Jim Woodruff Lock - located on the Apalachicola River in Chattahoochee, Fla. – is currently closed to all vessels as repairs are underway at the lock, but exceptions are being made to accommodate commercials vessels.
  • Mobile District partnerships enhance Fish Migration

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District has partnered with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Georgia, Florida, and Alabama state fisheries to improve the opportunities for successful fish migration in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River and the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa (ACT) River Basins. The fish passage efforts utilize the Corps navigation locks at these waterway projects during the spring spawning migration runs.
  • Allatoona Lake: Water safety awareness for recreation season

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Allatoona Project in Cartersville, Ga. is gearing up for the 2014 recreation season by hosting two water safety focused events: Vessel Safety Checks and America’s Boating Safety Course.
  • West Point Dam Road Traffic Restricted

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the dam road will be closed from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, Wednesday, May 21, 2014, to ensure public safety while routine maintenance is conducted on the West Point Dam.
  • Water Releases at Lake Allatoona

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, announced that water will be released through the spillway gates rather than the generators due to a fire that occurred in the powerhouse on May 19, 2014. The spillway gates will be used to make releases to manage lake levels and for downstream environmental purposes.
  • New Georgia gun bill does not affect USACE lakes, lands

    MOBILE, Ala. – Georgia’s House Bill 60, or the Safe Carry Protection Act of 2014, signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal Wednesday, April 23 and effective July 1, does not affect lakes and lands in Georgia managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

  • White Oak Creek Park Closed for Special Event

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District announced today White Oak Day Use Park and White Oak boat ramp on Walter F. George Lake near Eufaula, Alabama, will be closed to the public on Saturday, May 10, 2014. A “Take- A- Warrior Fishing” event will be conducted that day and will occupy both locations. White Oak Campground will maintain normal operations during the event but campers are urged to launch, and then move trailers and vehicles inside the campground to make spaces available at the boat ramp.
