The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provides shoreline protection to areas when funds are available.  The focus is primarily on shoreline zoned as "Protected" or "Public Recreation" as these would be areas that the general public would use the most.

Shoreline Protection is allowed in areas zoned "Limited Development".  This permit is a no-cost permit, however plans must be submitted and approved before work can begin.  If you are interested in Shoreline Protection in your area, call the Allatoona Lake Project Management Office at (678) 721-6700.
