    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Project, Demopolis Site Office, reopened many of its recreation areas as of March 12, 2019 that had been closed due to excessive rain and flooding.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announces that due to continued heavy rainfall in the northern regions of Alabama and Mississippi, river levels have reached major flood stages, impacting navigation traffic on inland waterway systems. The high water levels have caused the closure of several locks, as well as creating shoal areas obstructing as water levels drop.
