Sitting atop the U.S. Coast Guard navigation range in Mobile Bay, Mobile District coastal engineer, Richard Allen, connects newly installed gauges to the broadcast system which provides data communication to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The gauges measure water level, wave height, turbidity, salinity and suspended-sediment concentration.
