Teachers and youth group leaders: bring your children to see the U.S. Snagboat Montgomery! The Tom Bevill Visitor Center welcomes groups of all sizes. Inside the Visitor Center are displays about the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, local wildlife, archaeology, and river transportation. Videos tell the story of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway construction and the Montgomery.

To make your trip even more educational, the following links provide lesson plans and student materials. The lesson plans follow Alabama and Mississippi curriculum guidelines in Social Studies and Reading Comprehension. Most are designed to be fun learning exercises! Each link provides the materials in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. You may download each lesson plan as a complete package (for users with high-speed connections) or as separate files (for users with slower connections).
