  • Allatoona Project Releases High Water, Carters Lake Receding

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake Project has begun releasing water through its dam spillway as of 3:00 p.m. EST on Feb. 21, 2020 due to high water levels at the reservoir. In addition, USACE Mobile District’s water management efforts – along with reduced inflows from lighter rainfall – have helped the main reservoir's high water level recede at Carters Lake Project.
  • USACE ALLATOONA LAKE PROJECT TO HOST ‘KIDS TO PARKS, SAFE KIDS DAY’ AT GALT’S FERRY

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District is scheduled to host a “Kids to Parks/Safe Kids Day” May 18, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Galt’s Ferry Day Use Area on Allatoona Lake in Acworth, Georgia. Co-sponsored by Safe Kids Cherokee County and the National Park Trust, this event will provide participants an opportunity to learn about recreation safety with a variety of activities.
  • CORPS AT ALLATOONA LAKE PROJECT TO ACCEPT HUNTING PROGRAM APPLICATIONS

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake announces that applications for hunting permits may be submitted starting May 1, 2019. No applications will be accepted prior to this date. A $20.00 special permit activity fee is required for each requested permit.
  • USACE AT ALLATOONA LAKE PROJECT DELAYS OPENING RECREATION AREAS

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announced March 12, 2019 there will be a delay in the opening of numerous USACE-managed campgrounds and Day Use areas at Allatoona Lake in Cartersville, Georgia tentatively until March 29. This is due to the impacts of flooding and possible continued rainfall in the region.
