MOBILE, Ala.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District stated today that the Buford Dam Road in its entirety along Federal property, will be closed all day for the construction of three pedestrian cross-walks on Oct. 15, 2013 weather permitting. These pedestrian cross-walks will include new speed bumps and striping.
During this time, all parks with entrances on Buford Dam Road will also be closed. Parks closed would include: Upper Overlook, Lower Pool East (Powerhouse), Lower Overlook, Lower Pool West, West Bank Turn-out, and West Bank Park. The Lake Lanier Project Management Office and Visitor Center will also be closed to public access.
