WEST POINT, Ga. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, West Point Project, will begin scheduled work to refurbish the federal government property line around the reservoir on Monday, December 1, 2025.
The project’s contractor, East O&M, will survey and refresh several segments of the boundary line. Residents in subdivisions, neighborhoods, or along major roads adjacent to public landmay see crews working or walking on federal property behind homes or along the shoreline. This work is part of routine boundary upkeep and will take place December through February.
This notice is intended to keep the community informed and ensure residents are aware of the planned activity.
USACE Park Rangers will also be inspecting portions of the boundary line during the survey to provide quality assurance. Rangers will be in uniform and conducting official duties.
The federal property line is marked with two red horizontal stripes on trees along straight sections and three red stripes where the line changes direction. The boundary covers more than 330 miles around the West Point Project and encompasses over 55,000 acres of public land and water. This line is refurbished approximately every five years to keep it clearly identifiable.
