There are approximately 9,465 acres of prime acreage surrounding the Alabama River Lakes Project Management Office to enjoy the various kinds of game and non-game wildlife. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers manages approximately 5,600 acres of this public-use land, along the beautiful Alabama River, for bow hunting and small-game hunting.
There are seven areas open to hunting at Woodruff Lake, and seven areas at Dannelly Reservoir and 11 different hunting areas at Claiborne Lake.

Additionally, hunters must observe all state and federal hunting regulations including obtaining a valid state hunting license and an Alabama River Lakes Hunting Permit prior to using the Alabama River Lakes hunting facilities. No rifles are allowed for hunting and patrons must use either archery or shotgun (size 6 shot or smaller) to harvest game animals.
