    MOBILE, Ala. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) announced today that beginning Jan. 1, 2016, approximately 240 of its recreation projects nationwide will begin issuing America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Interagency Passes.

The DEIS evaluates the potential impacts from expanding onsite facilities and expanding the port’s turning basin at the Port of Gulfport.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Releases Draft Environmental Impact Statement and Water Control Manual for Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Basin for Public Review and Comment

    MOBILE, Ala.-– The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, has released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and Water Control Manual (WCM) for the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint River Basin (ACF) for public review and comment. As part of that review and comment process, USACE will hold five public open houses during the last week of October and the first week of November.
  • Army Corps of Engineers supports new “Every Kid in a Park” recreation initiative

    WASHINGTON (September 2, 2015) – President Obama, with the support of the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation to include the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, announced today the start of a new initiative to give every child in the United States the chance to explore and learn about America’s great outdoors. The Every Kid in a Park initiative will provide all fourth grade students and their families with free admission for a full year to more than 2,000 federally-managed sites nationwide.

    MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District announced today that Georgia’s House Bill 60, or the Safe Carry Protection Act of 2014, signed into law by Governor Nathan Deal Wednesday, April 23 and effective July 1, does not affect lakes and lands in Georgia managed by USACE.

    MOBILE, Ala. –The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District, West Point Project announced that the project’s operations and maintenance contractor, Anderson Construction Company, will begin the seasonal maintenance of the Government property line around the reservoir on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces Lake Lanier Dock Permits return

    MOBILE, Ala.-- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers(USACE), Mobile District announces that Lake Sidney Lanier has completed the dock lottery process begun in 2009. After completion of the lottery it was determined that additional permits may be issued. The Shoreline Management Section at Lake Lanier will begin accepting requests for new dock permits on September 16, 2014.
  • White Oak Creek Park Closed for Special Event

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District announced today White Oak Day Use Park and White Oak boat ramp on Walter F. George Lake near Eufaula, Alabama, will be closed to the public on Saturday, May 10, 2014. A “Take- A- Warrior Fishing” event will be conducted that day and will occupy both locations. White Oak Campground will maintain normal operations during the event but campers are urged to launch, and then move trailers and vehicles inside the campground to make spaces available at the boat ramp.
  • Personal Watercraft and Boating Safety Course Offered Locally

    The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 81, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake, will conduct a personal watercraft and boating safety course at the West Point Project Management Office on April 15 and 17, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time. This course will provide information on legal requirements, navigation rules, preventing personal watercraft and boating accidents, and new boating laws.
