USACE temporarily closes Old Bridge, Piney Grove Beaches

Published July 9, 2013

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District’s Bay Springs Site Office in Dennis, Miss. has temporarily closed Old Bridge Beach and Piney Grove Beach on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Watery due to high water level impacts until further notice.

USACE will announce the reopening of these areas as soon as water levels recede. In the meantime, the public may contact the Bay Springs Site Office, 662-423-1287, for more information.

“The safety of our visitors and their families is our priority,” Lance Davis, a public affairs specialist for USACE Mobile District, said. “We will notify the public after we have determined these beach areas are safe again for access.”

USACE continues to encourage everyone to practice water and boating safety at all times.
