Mobile District to Host Public Meeting on the Gulfport Harbor Feasibility Study

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, in partnership with the Mississippi State Port Authority (Gulfport), the non-Federal sponsor for the Gulfport Harbor Feasibility Study, invites the public to attend a meeting to discuss the study's progress and objectives.

Date: Thursday, December 5, 2024

Time: 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Purpose:  This meeting will provide an opportunity for community members to ask questions, share input, and learn more about the study's purpose, scope, and current progress.Top of FormBottom of Form

Location: Isiah Fredericks Community Center, 3312 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Gulfport, MS 39501

The meeting will feature poster boards highlighting key aspects of the study, with members of the Project Delivery Team available throughout the room to answer questions and engage directly with attendees. This interactive format will allow community members to gain detailed insights, ask specific questions, and provide valuable input.

The Gulfport Harbor Feasibility Study is focused on identifying solutions to enhance the port's capacity, resolve navigation challenges, and evaluate potential economic and environmental benefits. The findings of the study will guide decisions regarding potential improvements to Gulfport Harbor.

The PDT will release the draft feasibility report for public review on Wednesday, December 13, 2024. This report will present proposed recommendations and findings. Public feedback will be essential to ensure the project aligns with community and stakeholder needs.
