MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District and the Walter F. George Resource Office will be closing the Cotton Hill campground from September 15, 2024 -March 2025 due to the water distribution lines being replaced.
The original plan called for closing Cotton Hill campground after July 4 due to the original timing for the work, but it was moved to later in the year so the public could continue to use the recreation are for the remainder of the summer season.
The water line upgrades will take place from September 15 through March, with anticipation the park will open for the Spring season. Access to the site during the construction work is prohibited due to public safety concerns as the water distribution lines are being replaced.
The White Oak and Hardridge Creek campgrounds will remain open during this time while Cotton Hill is closed.
