West Point Dam Road Traffic Restricted

USACE, Mobile District
Published Nov. 3, 2023

MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, West Point Project, announced that the road atop West Point Dam will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 7-8, and Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.

This closure is necessary for public safety as operators conduct road testing and surveys. The dam road will be open for the public’s use on these dates before and after the listed work hours.

Many motorists use the West Point Dam Road for their daily commutes across the Chattahoochee River, and the closure may add to their travel time. Signs located at each end of the road are in place to notify the public of its closure. Alternate routes across the river are the U.S. Highway 29 Bridge in West Point, Georgia, and the Georgia Highway 109 Bridge near LaGrange, Georgia.
