USACE, Mobile District
Published Dec. 1, 2022

MOBILE, Ala.--The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, West Point Project, announced that vehicular and pedestrian traffic across West Point Dam’s road will be closed beginning Monday December 5, 2022 at 0900 EST through Friday, December 9, 2022, to ensure public safety as work is being done on top of the dam.

Many motorists use the West Point Dam Road in their daily commutes across the Chattahoochee River, and the closure may add to their travel time. Signs located at each end of the road will be in place to notify the public of its accessibility. Alternate routes across the river are US Highway 29 Bridge in West Point, Georgia, and the Georgia Highway 109 Bridge near LaGrange, Georgia.
