White Oak Creek & Cotton Hill Campgrounds closed Sept to March 2023

USACE, Mobile District
Published June 30, 2022

MOBILE, Ala. – White Oak Creek Campground and Cotton Hill Campground will be closed due to an aging water line system from September 2022 through March 2023.

The water line system is failing due to a significant increase in visitation over the last decade. White Oak Creek Ramp will remain open, and the closure will not affect the boat ramp or associated restroom in that area.

The ability to make reservations for White Oak Creek Campground and Cotton Hill Campground has ceased until further notice. The reopening of the campgrounds is dependent upon receiving supplemental funding and developing a feasible solution to the issue.

Hardridge Creek Campground and Bluff Creek Campground, typically closed for the winter, will remain open to mitigate the camping experience on Walter F. George Lake.
