MOBILE, Ala. -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Project in Columbus, Mississippi, announces several of its campgrounds will only accept credit or debit cards as methods of payment and become 100 percent reservable via recreation.gov, starting March 1, 2020.
Campers can make reservations up to six months before a visit but no later than two days in advance, using www.recreation.gov, the recreation.gov phone app, or by calling recreation.gov: 1-877-444-6777.
Visitors may still come to the campgrounds to make in-person reservations up to the day of, pending availability.
These campgrounds include:
Blue Bluff Campground - Aberdeen, Mississippi
Dewayne Hayes Campground - Columbus, Mississippi
Town Creek Campground - West Point, Mississippi
Pickensville Campground - Pickensville, Alabama
Piney Grove Campground - Bay Springs, Mississippi
Jamie L. Whitten Campground - Fulton, Mississippi
Cochrane Campground – Aliceville, Alabama (NOTE: Cochrane is not on the reservation system for recreation.gov, however, reservations can be made in person using a debit or credit card.)

The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, affectionately known as the “Tenn-Tom”, is located in the Mobile District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It joins the Tennessee River in Northeast Mississippi with the old Tombigbee River near Amory, Mississippi. The waterway is 234 miles long and runs from Yellow Creek Port near Pickwick Lake to Demopolis, Alabama. The system features 10 lakes and 10 locks and dams that allow for a shorter navigational route from the interior United States to the Gulf of Mexico.
