Published Nov. 20, 2019

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at Allatoona Lake Project will close Vineyard Mountain Trail from Dec. 1 – Dec. 31, 2019, due to scheduled hunting activities in the area.

“The trailheads for Vineyard Mountain located at Riverside Day Use Area and Bethany Bridge will not be available,” said Christopher Purvis, lead park ranger at Allatoona Lake Project. “We encourage hikers to schedule their activities at our other nearby locations, such as Cooper’s Furnace Trail and Pine Mountain Trail.

Purvis said hikers can also use the trails at Red Top Mountain State Park.

“We are committed to providing the highest quality of recreation to all our visitors,” said Purvis.
