BOUNDARY LINE SURVEY AT WEST POINT LAKE

US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS MOBILE DISTRICT
Published Sept. 26, 2019

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District at West Point Lake Project announces that survey contractors have begun work to reset missing boundary and properly identify sections of the boundary line at West Point Lake.

“This work is part of an ongoing effort to ensure our project’s boundary is accurate and easily identifiable,” said Danny Blankenship, a park ranger at West Point Lake Project.

Over the next few weeks, contracted survey crews from Survtech Solutions will be working along the banks of the Chattahoochee River river near Franklin, Georgia as well as areas near New River, Wehadkee Creek, and Lagrange Georgia. Adjacent property owners may encounter the contractors as they perform their surveys.

“Our contractors should be clearly identifiable, and they will be working from vehicles marked as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contractor,” said Blankenship.

West Point Lake Project is responsible for the management of both public lands and easements on private lands surrounding the lake and along the Chattahoochee River from West Point Dam to Langdale Dam. The public land’s boundary is marked with red painted stripes on trees. Easements on private lands are marked with white stripes on trees. Also, a survey monument is placed in the ground at each turning point along the boundary line.

For questions or concerns about the boundary line survey, please call the West Point Lake Project Management Office at 706-645-2937.
