MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District announced its Twiltley Branch Campground at Okatibbee Lake in Collinsville, Miss. will no longer take cash payments effective Jan. 1, 2019.
Credit and debit cards will be the only permitted forms of payment.
“Cashless operations will give our visitors a secure way to conduct financial transactions, reducing the potential for loss of funds,” said Scott Payne, supervisory natural resource specialist at Okatibbee Lake Project Office.
This change will streamline financial transactions, provide a quicker process when refunds are necessary, and enhance overall recreation operations, said Payne.
Persons, in previous years, who only paid with cash or by check, may also use pre-paid credit cards.
