NO CURRENT IMPACTS FROM HURRICANE FLORENCE AT MOBILE DISTRICT PROJECTS, RECREATION SITES

Published Sept. 14, 2018
MOBILE, Ala. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District projects and recreation sites
are currently under normal operations, and the region’s reservoirs are at, or slightly below,
normal target weather elevations for this time of year.

Forecast rainfall amounts in the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa (ACT) and Apalachicola-
Chattahoochee-Flint (ACF) River Basins have decreased since yesterday, with current
forecast over the next seven days indicating rainfall less than 1½ inches in the upper portion of
the ACT and ACF River Basins. Currently, no significant rainfall impacts are expected for
basins at the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Black Warrior-Tombigbee River and
Okatibbee River.

While its current course has shifted slightly northeastward, the forecasted path of Hurricane
Florence remains uncertain.

Community members are encouraged to maintain caution and check revised forecasts
frequently, as conditions may be subject to change. Mobile District will continue monitoring
both basin and weather conditions during the Hurricane Florence weather event.
