Allatoona Lake to accept Christmas trees for recycling

MOBILE, Ala. - The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is scheduled to accept unwanted, live Christmas trees for recycling Dec. 26, 2016 through Jan. 21, 2017 at Allatoona Lake. Artificial trees will not be accepted.  USACE will provide seven (7) drop-off sites. The trees may be dropped off at:

 

Allatoona Project Office

Bethany Bridge Fishing Jetty

(Parking area)

Victoria Day Use

(Parking area)

Payne Boat Ramp

(Parking area)

Galt’s Day Use

(Parking area)

Blockhouse 1 Fishing Jetty

(Behind Paw Paw’s Convenience Store)

Sweetwater Campground

(Overflow parking area)

 

 

All decorations – tinsel, lights, garland, bulbs, etc. – must be removed from the trees before dropping them off.  Please place the trees in the designated locations in the parking lots.  Dumping of household trash at these sites is strictly prohibited. 

Park Rangers will place trees in the lake to create fishing structure at various locations as part of the Allatoona Lake Fish Habitat Improvement Program, a partnership between federal, state, and local governments, as well as several group organizations and businesses.
