USACE MOBILE TO HOST PUBLIC MEETING FOR PROCTOR CREEK

Published Dec. 7, 2018
MOBILE, Alabama – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Mobile District invites the public to take part in an open house meeting on the Flood Risk Management Study of the Proctor Creek floodplain.
The event will take place on Monday, December 17, 2018, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will be held at the Northwest Branch Library at Scott’s Crossing at 2489 Perry Blvd. NW, Atlanta, Ga 30318. All who are interested in the proposed study are welcome to attend.
The purpose of this study is to assess the need for flood damage protection along the floodplain of Proctor Creek in the City of Atlanta. Proctor Creek has had a history of flooding impacting development along its floodplain. This study will determine federal interest in participating in a locally supported, cost-shared project to address this issue within the City of Atlanta.
This open house meeting is an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the study and potential project to follow. Members of the Mobile District project team along with representatives from the local sponsor, the City of Atlanta, will be on hand to explain the ongoing study, answer questions related to the study, and receive public input on problems and concerns.
