MOBILE, Alabama – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District hosted an open house concerning the Mobile Harbor Draft General Reevaluation Report with Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (Draft GRR/SEIS), September 11 at the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, in Mobile, Alabama.
The public meeting provided an opportunity for the public to voice their concerns and to have questions answered by USACE Mobile personnel concerning the Draft GRR/SEIS and to provide information on the tentatively scheduled plan. Attendees also had the option of filling out comment cards or dictating their concerns to a court reporter.
Col. Sebastien P. Joly, USACE Mobile District commander, said the meeting was highly successful.
“This was a great opportunity to pair people with concerns to subject matter experts in the Corps,” Joly said. “We will use that feedback to determine what adjustments need to be made as we finalize the final draft report.”
The open house provided an opportunity for the public to share comments that will be considered in the preparation of the Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.
The public has until September 17 to submit comments. Members of the public may submit comments by mail to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, 109 Saint Joseph Street, Mobile, AL 36602 or via email at MobileHarborGRR@usace.army.mil.
