Purpose of the Alabama Coastal Comprehensive Plan (ACCP)

The State of Alabama is working with the US Army Corps of Engineers to develop a constituent informed, science-based coastal comprehensive plan to strengthen the economic, environmental, and social resilience of coastal Alabama for current and future generations.

Program Status

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program (MBNEP) has created a tool to refine input gathered in visioning sessions over the last year. This input is an important element in the creation of the ACCP.

During the current phase of the ACCP, a coast wide vulnerability assessment is being conducted to identify future risks due to sea level rise.

During the first phase in the development of the ACCP, visioning exercises with various sectors of our coastal communities were conducted. Click here to see highlights of previous meetings.
