The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates and maintains five campgrounds at Alabama River Lakes. Registered campers are entitled to the full use of campground facilities such as grills and tables, dump stations, laundries and showers.
All six of USACE campgrounds are "fee campgrounds" with resident park attendants. Many of the fee campgrounds also offer boat ramps, fish cleaning stations, playgrounds, basketball courts, and nature trails.

During the summer season, reservations are accepted at the fee campgrounds but are not required. The two marinas on the lake are privately owned and operated.
