Contracting Division

All contractors wishing to do business with the Mobile District must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM). SAM is a free website where you will find the Central Contractor Registration, Federal Agency Registration, Online Representations and Certifications Application, and the Excluded Parties List System. While at the SAM website, small business owners also have the opportunity to learn how the Corps of Engineers conducts business and get the latest information on other marketing opportunities.

Companies seeking solicitation, awards or other opportunities with the Corps of Engineers should visit the contracting opportunities at the Beta.SAM.Gov website. Beta.SAM.Gov is the authoritative source for Contract Opportunities, it is a public website used by federal agencies to advertise solicitations that are valued at $25,000 and over. Procurements valued between $2,500 and $25,000 are generally not advertised and procurements under $2,500 are usually procured using the Government Purchase Card (GPC).

The Corps of Engineers is required to conduct its procurements subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as well as Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS), and Corps of Engineers internal guidance. Visit the FAR website to learn more.

Corps of Engineers procurements are conducted by Contracting Offices located at Districts and Division Centers. Firms can obtain the location of the centers in their state by visiting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Headquarters website.  Keep in mind that often more than one district performs work within a state or region.
