Mobile, Ala. - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers West Point Project Management Office in West Point, Georgia, announces today that permits and maps for the 2026-2027 hunting seasons are now available. A permit is required to hunt on lands managed by USACE at the West Point Project.
The permit fee is $25. The West Point Project manages approximately 10,000 acres of land for hunters to utilize. West Point Lake Hunting Permits do not apply to the West Point Wildlife Management Area, which is roughly 10,000 acres as well and is managed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
All hunters are encouraged to examine the hunting maps and permits closely to ensure compliance with all rules, regulations, and weapon restrictions. In addition to these rules and regulations, all state hunting regulations also apply for the state in which the permit holder is hunting.
Permits may be purchased at the West Point Lake Visitors’ Center, by telephone at 706-645-2937 using a major credit card, or by mail at the address listed below:

Individuals requesting a West Point Project Hunting Permit must provide their name, mailing address, and telephone number. Checks and money orders should be made out to: F&A Officer, USACE Mobile. Please do not send cash.
Hunters must always have a valid West Point Project hunting permit in their possession while hunting. If a permit is lost, the hunter must purchase another permit.
