www.studentjobs.gov - Job search websites announcing internships and connections to job opportunities at agencies not posted on USAJOBS, such as FBI, military and Post Office, including information on military and Postal Exams.

www.opm.gov -- Office of Personnel Management website contains additional information on Government benefits and programs.

www.firstgov.gov Government web portal that connects to the websites of all Federal agencies. This will help you find information about agencies to which you may consider applying .

Initiatives

The Federal Government seeks to reflect the diversity of our nation. Our hiring efforts include outreach to minorities and people with disabilities.

Internships/Co-ops/
Student Aids

Students can work part-time and with flexible hours, while earning benefits such as vacation and sick leave, as well as public transportation subsidies.

Internship opportunities are available on an agency-by-agency basis and may result in a permanent position upon completion of the program. Contact agencies directly for more information.

The Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP) provides a part-time job to students during the school year or summer.

The Student Career Experience Program (SCEP) provides cooperative education opportunities to students in their major. Upon completion, the student may be eligible for a permanent position.

Outstanding Scholar Program
A special hiring authority was established to help college graduates obtain entry-level positions. Applicants who graduate with an overall undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or above, or graduate in the top 10 percent of their class, are eligible for non-competitive hiring.

Student Loan Repayment
A new program that allows agencies to repay student loans up to $6,000 per year and $40,000 total for those who qualify.
