The Corps maintains
10 day use parks. These areas are perfect for picnicking,
sunning, cookouts, birthday parties, ball games, hiking or just relaxing
in the great outdoors. Enjoy the natural beauty of the lake and both the
Chattahoochee and the Flint Rivers. There are also several nearby towns
that provide entertainment, shopping, and
area history.
Recreational facilities available at day
use parks include fishing areas, beaches,
picnic tables, ball courts, playgrounds and picnic shelters.
See
the Recreation Facilities chart below for more
information.
Though some day use parks include
campgrounds, camping is allowed only in the
designated areas. Day use activities should not go into the campgrounds.
A $3 boat launching fee is charged at
the Chattahoochee Park, Hales Landing, and Rays Lake boat ramps. A Corps of Engineers
Annual Day Use Pass may be purchased for $30. The Corps of Engineers Annual Day Use Pass is
honored at Corps of Engineers day use areas and boat launching ramps
nationwide. The annual pass is in effect one year from the date of
purchase.
Picnic shelters may also be reserved.
