The Mobile District maintains 22 locks on four waterway systems: the Black Warrior & Tombigbee Rivers, Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, Alabama River, and the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Rivers.  If you plan to travel by boat on one of these river systems you should check this page for any scheduled lock closures.  Lock closures can be as short as one day and as long as thirty days.  Most closures are planned months and even years ahead but emergencies do happen and these closures can happen at any time.  Please check the current schedule using the free viewer. The schedule can be viewed using the Adobe Acrobat Reader. Just click on Acrobat Reader and follow the instructions for downloading.
